Rick

Rick Burnett:
SUP Guide/ SUP Yoga

Several years ago Rick grew weary of the stifling confines of academia, and after wandering in the (metaphorical) wilderness for some time, he found yoga and fell in love. He moved to Okinawa and discovered that you can do yoga on a stand-up paddle board... and he fell in love again (yoga on the ocean? are you kidding?). Seriously, he’s pretty sure he was born for this island life thing.

In his spare time when he’s not twisting himself into a pretzel (or teaching others to do the same), he’s at the tattoo shop having ink shoved in his skin, taking ridiculously long walks, and looking for any excuse to get out on the water on his paddle board.  Rick is an RYT 500 level yoga instructor and holds additional certificates in SUP Yoga, SUP Guide, and Yin Yoga. Plus a bunch of other boring academic stuff.

Emily Ubbens:
SUP Guide/ SUP Fitness

Emily was born and raised in Canada where two-a-day swim practices were the closest she could get to the water most of the year.  However, she has always been a beach bum at heart and was immediately drawn to standup paddle boarding the moment she stepped on the board.  She couldn’t wait to get her SUP Fitness Certification so that she could spread her adventurous spirit to others through the Okinawan waters. In addition to her passion for the beach and for fitness, she is a travel addict and has visited over 50 countries searching for new experiences and new ways to make a difference.
